Council Discusses Disorderly Conduct Amendment, Senior Day Proclamation

The Woodstock City Council meets at 7 p.m. in the Chambers at City Center.

The will meet at 7 in the Chambers at City Center. The council will hear an amendment to the Disorderly Conduct Ordinance from Woodstock Police Chief David Bores. If approved, the change will read, “Make threats to harm themselves or another person or make statements indicating their intent to harm themselves or another person.” It will go into effect upon adoption of the council.

The mayor will read a proclamation claiming Aug. 20 as Support Our Seniors Day. The proclamation says the council “encourage(s) all citizens, elected officials and City staff to support the fund raising efforts of the Volunteer Aging Council, so that the programs in place to aid and assist our elderly can continue.”

The council will also discuss funding that has been requested to repave the following roads: Londonderry Drive off of Highway 92, Springfield Drive off of Highway 92, Pine Hill Drive off of Mill Street and Highway 5 North starting at Rope Mill Road traveling north to the south side of the Roundabout at Haney Road.

  • A request for a $2,000 annual subscription to an online data site that will allow City officials to assess and compare wages and salaries from metro Atlanta agencies.
  • A renewal of a $25,000, three-year Enterprise License Agreement with Environmental Systems Research Institute for geographic information system software.
