GDOT Wants Public Input on S.R. 20

A meeting to review proposed improvements will be held on Dec. 10 at a church in Ball Ground.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled another round of public input sessions on proposed improvements to Cherokee County's major west-to-east thoroughfare.

The session on possible improvements to S.R. 20/Cumming Highway will be held Dec. 10 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 137 Hightower Road in Ball Ground.

The public will have a chance to drop in any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Another meeting is set for Dec. 12 at Otwell Middle School cafeteria, located at 605 Tribble Gap Road in Cumming. Residents there can also stop by between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

GDOT is exploring ways to mitigate heavy traffic flow on the highway between I-575 in Canton and S.R. 400 in Forsyth.

The agency will give the public a first glance at initial proposals to improve the highway, but no formal presentation will be held.

If you can't make the presentations, but would want to add your voice to the proposals, visit GDOT's website on S.R. 20 improvements or take part in its online survey.
