Gingrich Will Visit Towne Lake Today

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will stop in Towne Lake on his Georgia tour this morning.

The former U.S. speaker of the House and Georgia congressman will address Cherokee County residents at the grand opening of the GOP headquarters at 1428 Towne Lake Pkwy.

Gov. Nathan Deal, Rep. Sean Jerguson (R-Holly Springs), Rep. Charlice Byrd (R-Woodstock), Rep. Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper) and Sen. Barry Loudermilk will be among the special guests at the free "Get Out the Vote" rally, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gingrich will make an appearance at a Cobb Chamber of Commerce breakfast event at the before heading to Cherokee County. Kennesaw Patch said of more than 500 guests.

"The outrageous behavior of the president in apologizing to Afghanistan when young Americans were dying is inexcusable. We also need a national energy policy that uses all of America's resources. When I left the U.S. House of Representatives, it was the last time we had a balanced budget."

Georgia’s GOP presidential primary will be Tuesday, and early voting continues today and Friday.
