Little River Bridge Open House Set For Tonight

The Georgia Department of Transportation wants feedback on replacing the bridge over Little River at the Cherokee-Fulton county line.

A open house is scheduled for tonight at 5 p.m. to get feedback on a proposal to replace the bridge over Little River along Highway 140 along the Cherokee-Fulton county line.

The open house will be held at Mountain Road Elementary School near Woodstock.

A proposal is on the table to use federal funds to build a new bridge over the river, which has been labeled as "structurally deficient."

The new bridge would be shifted 50 feet to the north of its existing alignment. The existing bridge will remain in use until the project is completed.

The project is still in its planning stages and officials won't know the cost until that's complete.Β
