We are bringing you updates live from the Woodstock City Council meeting.

The  is holding its regular meeting tonight, and Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch editor Lindsey Davidson is there to cover all the action live. 9:28 p.m. And that's that. City Council is adjourned.

9:24 p.m. He said that was good knowing trucks are taking the correct routes.

9:23 p.m. Moon asked the Police Department to check trucks that travel downtown. From the 26 this weekend, 22 had legitimate reasons for traveling downtown.

9:23 p.m. Moon said the Police Department has been warning solicitors on the right of way. If they do not leave, they will issue a citation.

9:16 p.m. The first reading of the ATV ordinance is approved by the council, knowing there will be revisions and amendments.

9:14 p.m. "It shall be unlawful to operate a golf cart on any property owned by the City or on which the City has an easement for the use of the property."

Casdia wants the paragraph to focus specifically on the trails.

9:12 p.m. Casdia is asking for a paragraph about golf carts to be taken out of the ordinance.

9:11 p.m. Collins asks for staff to look into adding horseback riding to the ATV ordinance.

9:09 p.m. The ATV ordinance includes 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, off-road motorcycles and golf carts.

9:07 p.m. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the Greenprints Trails. This ordinance is to help the Police Department enforce this law on the trails.

9:03 p.m. Monoprix Food Mart at 9378 Highway 92 receives its beer and wine license.

8:58 p.m. Moon asks for the council to extend his contract for another year. The council approves his contract 6-0.

8:58 p.m. "I have been very pleased with both the tangible and intangible things he has done with us this year," Moon says.

8:57 p.m. Henriques asks Moon for his input on the Brian Hudson LLC agreement for public affairs representation and lobbying services.

8:54 p.m. The Texaco Food Mart at 9068 Highway 92 receives its alcohol license.

8:53 p.m. The City Council has approved the budget, and we've moved through the approval of the minutes and consent agenda.

8:51 p.m. There was an increase made to the Fire Department for voice amplifiers for helmets by using excess from the council’s dues and finance department.

8:50 p.m. The second reading of the budget is presented with one $19,000 change.

8:47 p.m. Leonard makes a motion to approve the sign variance, and it's approved 5-1.

8:45 p.m. Casdia also points out that this could not be foreseen when this ordinance was put in place.

8:44 p.m. "I would rather get rid of this monument and let him have his own sign," Casdia says.

8:42 p.m. Leonard also points out that he didn't know the Zaxby's was there because he had not seen the sign.

8:41 p.m. "I frankly feel that we need to stay consistent with our regulations and because we have disapproved other applicants," Leonard says.

8:33 p.m. "I kind of think this is an exception to the rule," Brewer says. He also says this Zaxby's would be difficult for out-of-towners to locate.

8:33 p.m. "We originally wanted to protect the number of signs, but I do see a hardship here. You are not able to see the sign here," Brewer says.

8:30 p.m. Casdia is verifying the shared tower is on the applicant's property, and because of this, the Zaxby's owner is not able to use another sign.

8:29 p.m. Brian Stockton says the applicant planted the trees, and they do block the existing sign on the monument.

8:28 p.m. Collins asks about the trees planted around the existing sign at the Zaxby's. "Who planted them?"

8:28 p.m. The council previously unanimously denied the applicant's request at a May meeting because of laws set in place to avoid sign clutter.

8:27 p.m. An applicant is requesting an additional free-standing sign at the front entrance. It has an existing 55-foot sign on a tower monument.

8:27 p.m. And we are back! We're moving to a sign ordinance with a Zaxby’s on HIghway 92.

7:39 p.m. The council leaves for a short executive session.

7:36 p.m. "We are currently the second most ridden trail in Cherokee County. And we appreciate the help we have received."

7:35 p.m. "We currently have 6.5 miles of trails, but we still need some funding to finish the trails."

7:34 p.m. Public comment: A representative from the Taylor Randahl Memorial Mountain Bike Trail at Olde Rope Mill Park says they have had 2,700 riders so far this month.

7:30 p.m. The call will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. The number is 888-886-6603, ext. 16719.

7:28 p.m. The council makes a motion to encourage citizens to participate in a conference call that will address transportation matters in Cherokee County.

7:26 p.m. Jim Haizlip is welcomed to the Community Development Department as the newest building inspector coming from Cherokee County.

7:21 p.m. The council proclaims today Day. He is an  alum and was drafted to the Cleveland Browns.

7:16 p.m. "We are going to build something really strong because it is really important to us to do so," said Claudia Valenzuela, the new consul general of El Salvador.

7:11 p.m. Woodstock Mayor Donnie Henriques is reading the proclamation for the Sister City. This is first time a proclamation has been read with a Sister City mayor present.

7:09 p.m. The Woodstock City Council is called to order. The council is showing a video from Sister City San Luis la Herradura, El Savador.
