New Community Stage Comes to Woodstock

The stage will be located on the event greet adjacent to Market Street and will be available for rent by private groups.

The Woodstock Downtown Development Authority has joined forces with a medical office and Elm Street Cultural Arts Village to fund the construction of a community stage.

Main Street Woodstock has partnered with the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village and, along with a "generous donation from Resurgens Orthapaedics," to put forth the stage, said Brian Stockton, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority.

Elm Street, the DDA and Main Street each $5,000 towards the cost of the stage, which is right around $30,000. Resurgens will fund the rest.

The stage will be located on the event green at Elm Street's future location adjacent to Market Street and the Town To Creek trail.

The stage will be programmed with a variety of events including programming from Elm Street and the Main Street Woodstock program, and will be available for rent by private groups through Elm Street.

“We are very excited to partner with other organizations to continue to expand entertainment options in downtown,” Stockton said. “With the variety included in over 30 anticipated event dates this year, we believe there will be something for everyone to enjoy while we continue to activate this exciting property that Elm Street has big plans for. Investment by private partners like Resurgens Orthopaedics who continue to step up in their community are what makes these projects that much more exciting.”

Woodstock resident and business owner Drew Hyman with his team at Park Green Homes and Neighborhoods will build the Resurgens Orthopaedics Community Stage, which is slated to start next week and wrap up in early May.
