Program Helps Residents Save on Prescription Drug Costs

Cherokee County is now participating in the Coast2Coast Rx Card program.

Cherokee County has enrolled in a free discount prescription drug saving program to make available to its residents.

The Coast2Coast RX card will allow residents to participate in the program, which would give them discounts on their prescription drug medications.

The program is available to all residents, regardless of income, age or health status. It's also available to pets and people who live outside Cherokee County.

"With health care costs on the rise, prescription drug discounts will help ease some of the financial burdens individuals and families are facing at a time when they need it most," said County Commission Chairman Buzz Ahrens in a release.

Cherokee does not incur any expenses for participating in the program. Along with prescription discounts, the card also provides savings on dental, vision, veterinary and hearing services, lab and imaging tests and diabetes supplies and equipment.

The Coast2Coast RX card is available to residents at local government offices, Cherokee County branches of the Sequoyah Regional Library System and Cherokee County Health Department offices.

Residents can also visit www.coast2coastrx.com to print out theirRX card and see which pharmacies are participating in the initiative.

Several other Georgia counties are participating in the program, such as Augusta-Richmond, Barrow, Banks, Ben Hill, Charlton, Chatham, Cobb, Effingham, Greene, Habersham, Heard, Jackson, Jones, Liberty, Lumpkin, Newton, Oconee, Peach, Turner, Union and White.
