Question of the Week: What Should Be the Legislature's Priorities

What do you think Georgia legislators should tackle during its 40-day session?

With the Georgia General Assembly kicking off its legislative session today, which of these topics should be their priority, and why?

  • Ethics reform
  • School safety
  • tightening or loosening state gun laws
  • A new stadium for the Atlanta Falcons

Tell us what you think in the comments!

Update on WY's legislation: http://patriotupdate.com/2013/01/states-bill-nullifies-obama-gun-control-and-jails-feds-who-try-to-enforce-it/ Jail for any fed. that tries to enforce any fiat from from Obama and crew. I just wish GA could enact a similar “Firearms Protection Act,” protecting the second amendment.

I have only one concern for the legislature. WE DON'T NEED A NEW STADIUM FOR THE FALCONS! What is the problem with the GA Dome? I can't understand how it no longer meets the new luxury standards of Roger Goodell. there are so many things our area needs and even if it doesn't cost one penny out of my pocket, it just isn't needed. The old Fulton County Stadium needed to be replaced but what is lacking now?

What do you all think should be done about ethics reform?

First, fully fund the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Committee. Next, NO lobbyist gifts - why should the people allow bribery of its public servants? Retroactively force reporting for Independent Committees through punitive measures, including criminal penalties. Even Cherokee has a few of these "dark money" committees that the people should know about. Enforce criminal penalties for politicians who are proven to steal from the state.

First, a fully informed Grand Jury! Second, a statute providing for citizen access to that Grand Jury. Third, a statute providing for citizen access to the Article III Court for the purpose of Impeachment! Then you won’t need to be concerned with ethics!

None of the above. Bring quality jobs to Georgia.

Ah, here comes the crazy.

And that will get them what? You don't want to see the hell that would break loose if a sheriff started jailing federal agents under that piece of trash.

Exactly! Well said Kenneth!
