Gov. Nathan Deal received a warm welcome from the city of Canton and Cherokee County dignitaries on the occasion of his visit to the Canton Theatre on Thursday.
Deal was accompanied in his visit with wife Sandra Deal at a reception hosted by the city and the Canton Downtown Development Authority to highlight their daughter's Katie Deal Wright's performance in "Today, Tomorrow & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline."
Wright will perform the second of two shows tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Theatre.
Deal was presented with a gift basket containing products made in Georgia and Cherokee County by Canton Mayor Gene Hobgood.
Wright has been named "America's Favorite Patsy Cline" and was given the green light by the Cline's estate to portray the singer in productions, according to Center Productions, Inc.
