What's Closed on Labor Day?

Patch has compiled a list of closings in observance of Labor Day, which falls on Monday Sept. 2.

All federal, state and local government offices as well as banks will be closed on Monday Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day.

The offices for the cities of WoodstockCantonHolly SpringsWaleskaBall Ground and the Cherokee County government will be closed for the holiday. 

Canton and Woodstock residents who utilize Waste Management for residential waste disposal services should know the company will not pick up trash on Monday. Services will resume on Tuesday and will run one day behind through the rest of the week. 

Additionally, the Holly Springs City Council has rescheduled its work session for Thursday Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.

The Cherokee County Tax Commissioners' offices will also be closed on Monday for the holiday as well as the five Cherokee branches of the Sequoyah Regional Library System.

The Cherokee Area Transportation System buses will also not run on Monday. 

Cherokee County School District offices and schools will be closed, as well as classes and offices at Cherokee Charter Academy, Reinhardt University and Chattahoochee Technical College

United States Post Offices will also be closed on Monday and mail will not be delivered.

Cherokee County's two recycling centers will also be closed on Monday, which is part of their normal schedule.

City and county offices, schools, banks and all post offices will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday and regular mail delivery will resume on that day.
