Woodstock Approves Rezoning for New Homes

A request to rezone land to build just under 50 new homes was approved by the Woodstock City Council on Monday.

A decision by the Woodstock City Council to approve a rezoning request will mean a less dense development for the community's adjacent neighbors.

The council on Monday approved a request from RES-GA TSL, LLC of Atlanta to rezone 16.5 acres of land at the southeast corner of Putnam Ford Road and Eagle Drive behind LA Fitness

The property was rezoned from R-4 (town homes) to RC-3, which would allow the developer to build up to three single family detached units per acre.

The change would go from the property being zoned for 118 town homes to 46 single-family detached homes, said attorney Parks Huff, who represented the applicant in the process.
