Woodstock Mayor Henriques To Give State Of The City Address

The mayor will give his annual update during the Woodstock City Council meeting on Monday.

Woodstock Mayor Donnie Henriques will give his annual State of the City address during the Woodstock City Council's meeting on Monday.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center.

The address usually recounts the accomplishments the city witnessed in 2012 and makes note of what challenges it may face in the near future.

Council members will also consider a request to rezone property to accommodate a assisted living/memory care facility.

Woodstock SLP, LLC of Alpharetta has petitioned the city to rezone 6.63 acres property located east of Trickum Road and north of Popcorn Drive.

About 4.3 acres is zoned office space and institutional and roughly 2.33 acres is zoned general commercial.

The applicant is requesting the city to rezone the property to senior living to accommodate an assisted living/memory care facility.

The proposal, if approved, would build a 59-unit 40,000-square-feet, one-level facility.

The Woodstock Planning Commission during its Jan. 3 meeting voted to recommend approval of the proposal.

Council members will also consider the second reading of amendments to its ward boundaries.

See the attached .PDF to review what other items are on Monday's agenda.
