Woodstock: No Labor Day Fireworks

City Manager Jeff Moon said the move will save the $5,000 that would have been owed this year if the show had taken place.

The city of Woodstock will not make up for canceling its July 4th fireworks.

City Manager Jeff Moon said the city will not move forward with holding fireworks on Labor Day, a reversal of the city's plans to reschedule the annual July 4th fireworks show to Monday Sept. 2.

Postponing the show "will save the balance that would have been owed for this year’s show had it taken place," City Manager Jeff Moon said on Tuesday, noting that figure is $5,000.

Due to the relentless downpour Woodstock and Cherokee County saw on Independence Day, the city decided to cancel its annual parade, Freedom Fest event and fireworks show.
