Woodstock Schedules Annual Planning Retreat

The city will hold its retreat on Friday and Saturday at Magnolia Hall.

The city of Woodstock later this week will map out its priorities and plans for 2014. 

City Council members will hold their annual retreat on Friday and Saturday at Magnolia Hall. The city's Friday session will start at 1 p.m. and its Saturday session will start at 8 a.m.

Magnolia Hall is located at 108 Arnold Mill Road, behind the Magnolia Thomas Restaurant. 

On Friday, the city will discuss communication styles and hear reports from the Fire Department, Information Technology, Public Works, Downtown Development Authority/Convention and Visitors Bureau and Community Development departments on their plans for the upcoming year.

On Saturday, the council will review its five-year strategic plan, review its policy manual and hear reports from the Police, Finance, Parks and Recreation and Human Resources department heads on what upcoming initiatives they will tackle this year.

It will also review the city's strengths, problems, opportunities and threats.
