A Woodstock resident has tossed his hat into the ring for the crowded Republican primary for the U.S. House of Representatives District 11 seat in Georgia.
Retired Col. Larry Mrozinski on Saturday announced his intentions to run for the seat.
Mrozinksi will join former U.S. Rep Bob Barr of Smyrna, Georgia House Majority Whip Ed Lindsey of Buckhead, Businesswoman Tricia Pridemore of Marietta and Georgia Senator Barry Loudermilk of Cassville as contenders for the June 3, 2014, Republican primary to fill the seat.
The retired colonel has bachelor's degrees in political science and health science from SUNY Brockport and a master's degree in International Relations from Troy University. As a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry, he received a degree in military science from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Col. Mrozinski lives in Woodstock with wife Danielle and they have four adult children.
