Woodstock Named 4th Best City for Home Ownership

NerdWallet ranks Woodstock as the 4th best city to live in Georgia for homeowners.

The city of Woodstock is the fourth best place for Georgia home ownership.

That's according to an analysis done by NerdWallet, which examined 68 cities with populations exceeding 15,000 to determine if they had characteristics that were most favorable to home buyers.

In its analysis, NerdWallet reviewed if homes were available in the area, if residents could afford to live in that particular city and if the city is growing.

NerdWallet notes Woodstock is close to metro Atlanta and various outdoor attractions, has a "quaint" downtown core featuring a diverse offering of restaurants and shops, a 71 percent home ownership rate and residents spending on average just shy of 25 percent of their monthly income on home owner-related expenses.

Nearby, Johns Creek scored 6th, Milton ranked 8th, Acworth came in at 11th, Kennesaw ranked 13th, Canton clocked in at 16th and Alpharetta came in at 20th.
