Cherokee ESOL Educators Head Back To The Classroom

While the regular school year is over for Cherokee County School District students, their teachers stay busy over the break with numerous professional development training opportunities. 

A group of school district English for Speakers of Other Languages, or ESOL, teachers last week spent the first two days of their summer break attending a training session offered by Metro RESA — Regional Education Service Agency — in Smyrna. 

The two-day seminar, "The Key Principles for English Language Learners (ELL) Instruction: What We All Need to Know and Do," on Thursday and Friday provided participants with additional instructional tools and assisted them with the design of rigorous, grade-level instructional units or lessons with evidence-centered oral and written assessments.
