CTC Sees Slight Decrease in Enrollment

College officials said the decrease can be attributed to the change from quarters to semesters.

saw a slight decline in enrollment for the second semester on Woodstock's campus.

The first semester, CTC housed 595 students, while the spring semester had 550 students enrolled. CTC officials said the numbers are in line with the fall 2011 numbers, but the dip can be contributed to the switch from the 10-week quarters to 15-week semesters and changes to state financial aid programs.

The college as a whole saw an increase from 11,873 to 12,115 students between semesters.

“Enrollment numbers indicate that our students are successfully navigating the transition from quarters to semesters,” said Jennifer Nelson, vice president of External Affairs at Chattahoochee Technical College. “Students are also responding to the affordable and diverse career education opportunities at Chattahoochee Tech.”

The new year is bringing new programs to several of the college’s campuses, including a new Web Application Design program at the Marietta Campus, Occupational Therapy Assistant at the Austell Campus and Health Information Technology at the North Metro Campus. Other new programs are expected later in 2012.
