The Cherokee County Educational Foundation raised $10,000 with its inaugural Fore… Cherokee County Schools! Charity Golf Tournament.
"Every dollar we raise benefits the Cherokee County School District, which not only provides our children with an outstanding education, but is an engine for our community’s economic growth," Williams said.
Cherokee County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Petruzielo served as honorary chairman of the tournament.

The foundation, organized at the request of then-Cherokee County School Board vice chair Janet Read, advocates for Cherokee County School District teachers and staff by promoting teaching and learning and celebrating student achievement.
Some of the areas the foundation wants to help in includes providing grants for schools, teachers and other staff for “bright ideas” to improve education; grants for students for academic and after-school/extra-curricular programs; and support for specific initiatives such as the Cherokee Academies and Bring Your Learning Device.
