Cherokee Gold Presentation. The Rose Creek Public of the Sequoyah Regional Library System at 4476 Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock, (770) 591-1491. is sponsoring a presentation on “Cherokee Gold September 16 at 2:00pm and again September 17 at 2:00 pm,  Woodstock gold panner, Rob Kelly, will describe the history of 29ers gold rush in Cherokee County, the most successful gold producing County of the 1800s in the State of Georgia. He will show where gold panning is still performed by the hobbyist of the Allatoona Gold Panners and how they go about finding and panning it in the creeks of the Dahlonega Gold Belt that bisects Cherokee County.  Learn how to determine if you might have a gold creek in your backyard, but please do not think of leaving your day job!
