Divorce Arbitration & Mediation 101

This seminar is designed for individuals who are contemplating or facing marital separation or divorce.

While every divorce in Georgia requires a court order to dissolve the marriage, individuals may have control over the amount of time spent in courts or in litigation (going through "discovery" and to trial)  to get to that order.  In addition to litigation, this course provides information regarding how the processes of mediation, arbitration, and "Med-Arb" can assist couples in "tee-ing up" an uncontested divorce (with or without attorneys) or can reduce potential time and expenses related to litigation.

This seminar also reviews the kinds of information that individuals should gather, regardless of the process they ultimately use, in preparation for a meeting with an attorney, a mediation, or an arbitration.  Other topics, including child support worksheets, parenting plans, retirement issues, financial affidavits, and alimony, also are discussed.
