Kelly Marlow Wants to Limit Ethics Hearing Costs

The District 1 board member will ask the board tonight to cap expenses related to her ethics hearing in October.

The Cherokee County School Board tonight will consider requests made by Kelly Marlow to cap expenses related to her upcoming ethics hearing.

The board will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the historic Canton High School/School Board Auditorium for its regular meeting.

The District 1 member is asking the board to cap attorney fees at $500, court reporter services at $250 and for the use of a hearing officer at $250.

An ethics hearing to consider whether Marlow violated school board policies has been set for 6 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 2 at the auditorium.

School Board members will also consider a request from Marlow to "call for a public review" of the district's debt service plan and bond rating downgrade.
