Mill Creek Student Advances to State Spelling Bee

Mill Creek Middle School student Sathvika Narasimhan placed second at the Georgia Association of Educators' District 2 Spelling Bee.

The winner of the Cherokee County School District spelling bee will advance to the state competition.

Mill Creek Middle School sixth-grade student Sathvika Narasimhan, placed second at the Georgia Association of Educators' District 2 Spelling Bee to qualify for the State competition.  

The GAE State Spelling Bee will be held at 11 a.m. on March 21 at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Sathvika correctly spelled “boodle” and then “stethoscope” during the district's Jan. 24 competition to win the bee. 

It was her second time in as many years winning the bee. She won the county contest last year as a fifth-grader representing Little River Elementary School.
