The winner of the Cherokee County School District spelling bee will advance to the state competition.

Mill Creek Middle School sixth-grade student Sathvika Narasimhan, placed second at the Georgia Association of Educators' District 2 Spelling Bee to qualify for the State competition.

The GAE State Spelling Bee will be held at 11 a.m. on March 21 at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Sathvika correctly spelled “boodle” and then “stethoscope” during the district's Jan. 24 competition to win the bee.

It was her second time in as many years winning the bee. She won the county contest last year as a fifth-grader representing Little River Elementary School.

Well, what the National Education Association spends on this ... is that much less money it can spend on its liberal Democrat politics! Google "NEA" and "contributions" to see what I mean. All members of GAE and CCAE, by the way, fund the partisan NEA with their combined dues.
