If you're still reading, you lost the game. Simon didn't say to continue. Chances are, there are some preschoolers in the area that wouldn't have fallen for that so easily after practicing for weeks for the world's biggest game of Simon Says ever.

Several local preschools have been practicing listening for Simon for weeks now, preparing for the world’s biggest game of Simon Says ever played.

On Friday at 1 p.m., more than 12,000 of  students will join in a game of Simon Says in an attempt to break the current record of 12,215 participants, said Vanessa Zaczek, director of in Towne Lake.

At the Hickory Flat Goddard franchise location, the youngest participant will be 2 years old, said owner Mary Kay Buquoi.

“I don’t think they’ll last very long,” Buquoi said of the toddler players.

Of the 50 children participating at the Hickory Flat franchise, the oldest will be 8 years old. Still, even well-versed Simon-Says players know it’s not always the oldest ones who can listen the best.

To ensure the rules are enforced and the games are fair, local officials will be leading the games.

will be the Simon Says official judge at the Hickory Flat location, Buquoi said.

The game comes at the end of a week-long “block party” for the students to learn about nutrition, being aware of fitness and staying healthy, Zaczek said.

“It’s an easy way for them to actively involve with the community,” Zaczek said.

The week also promotes family environment that is core to the Goddard mission, Zaczek said.

Each day, students have had nutritious snacks, specific exercise programs or a field trip to learn about being healthy, Buquoi said.
