Students Recognized at Reinhardt's Honors Day

Woodstock-Towne Lake had 13 students recognized for their academic achievements.

Several local students were among the 126 students and one faculty member recognized at Reinhardt University's Honors Day on Sunday, April 22.

The following Woodstock students were honored for the academic achievements:

  • Catherine Tucker, a fall 2011 graduate, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Katlynn Knier, a junior, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Shawn-tel Lay, a junior, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Heidi Switzer, a junior, was recognized as a Reinhardt University Academic Scholar.
  • Kevin Bomely, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for English and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Aliecia Brooks, a senior, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Lauren Coleman, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for Theatre Studies and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Christopher Lawhorne, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for Music Education and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Brittany Lucero, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for Public Relations and Advertising and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Matthew McCoy, a senior, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Zachary Okerblad, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for General Business and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Diane Prescott, a senior, was recognized as an Academic Degree Program Award recipient for Accounting and as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.
  • Kayla Spivey, a senior, was recognized as a Hugh Peterson Jr. Academic Scholar.

Walter Beck, assistant professor of business, was honored with the Elizabeth Moss Bailey Faculty Mentor Award. This award is decided upon by the Student Government Association. It recognizes the faculty member who best exemplifies the University mission, who affects lives for the better, who integrates faith and learning and who educates the whole person.
