Woodstock Students Receive Collegiate Honors

Several Woodstock students reached milestones in their post-secondary careers.

Several Woodstock students recently were recognized and commended for their oustanding performance at colleges and universities across the country. 

  • Zuzana Kocsisova, a student at University of Evansville, was selected to present original research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). The conference took place last week at the University of Wisconsin-La Cross. Kocsisova, a graduate of Sequoyah High School who is majoring in biology, presented "Do mycophagous Drosophila show a preference for ethanol and α-Amanitin?"
  • Ana Bravo, a business administration and an international studies major, Mark Lavery, a history major, andTaylor Roberson, a biopsychology major were all named to the dean's list at Oglethrope University.
  • The following students from Woodstock were initiaited into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi:Clarence Ross, II, William Nattrass, Jr., Tara McCarthy, Laura Allen, Patricia Crow, Andi Johnson, Careese Stephens, Devin Witcher, Plamen Mavrov, Kristen Snow and Courtney Cohen.
  • Daniel Schmit received the Paul LaGrone Scholarship at Georgia Southern University's Annual Honors Day Convocation held at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center. 
  • Jacob Ackermann was inducted into Samford University's chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) freshman honor society. The society honors Samford freshmen in the top 20 percent of their class with grade point averages of 3.75 on a 4.00 system.
