Etowah Swept from Softball Playoffs

The doubleheader sweep in the second round of the Georgia High School Association’s AAAAA softball tournament stopped the Eagles one round short of reaching the eight-team, double-elimination championship tournament next week in Columbus.

Etowah, the No. 2 seed from Region 5-AAAAA, lost the first game 3-0 and the second game 7-1 to Collins Hill, the Region 7-AAAAA champion, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.

Etowah ends the season with a 24-11 record, according to Georgia Prep Country.
