Friday Football Preview: Region 5-AAAAA Play Begins

Woodstock (3-1) at Cherokee (1-3) – The Warriors have scored just 7.6 points per game over their last three games, all losses, after opening the season with a win. has won three close, low-scoring games, and tonight may have a similar feel. The game at Cherokee will begin Region 5-AAAAA play for both teams and the Warriors should be well rested coming off of a bye week.

River Ridge (3-0) at Cross Keys (1-3) – The Knights are sitting at a perfect 3-0 and travel to Cross Keys where the Indians got their first win last week by five points. is averaging 38.6 points per game this season while Cross Keys is allowing 39.5. There may be a lot of points scored tonight.

Walton (4-0) at Etowah (2-2) – Walton is ranked just outside the Associated Press Top-10 poll and has scored 42, 49, and 45 points, respectively in its last three games. blanked North Forsyth last week, 44-0, and has two wins this year – both of which the team has posted 40 or more points. In Etowah’s two losses the Eagles were held to 15 points or less. When Etowah scores in bunches it wins. Tonight will be no easy task.
