Camp Canceled Without Warning

The Heroes & Champions Camp officials were unclear if families would receive their funding back of $325 to $375.

Update 11:33 a.m.

A major medical emergency involving the camp's executive director forced the cancellation, Heroes & Champions said in response to a request for more information.

"She is going to be okay, but due to the magnitude of the emergency, the camp had to be called off," the email said.

The Heroes & Champions Camp, scheduled to start today at the University of Georgia, has been canceled without warning and without word on when or whether families will receive refunds for the four-day camp, which charged $325 to $375. Both the website and Facebook page for the camp appear to have been removed. The camp had advertised itself on Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch's calendar, and we’re sorry if the event listing here led you to lose money on the camp. If we find out more about what happened, we’ll let you know.

WSB-TV has more details on the situation.
