Dozens of Blood Drives Set For Cherokee

The American Red Cross needs your help to keep local blood banks well-stocked during the summer months.

Cherokee County residents who want to donate blood but must work an appointment time around their busy schedules have several options for donations next month.

The American Red Cross is hosting over a dozen blood drives in June, at locations such as the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center and several locations throughout Woodstock.

Below is the list of June blood drives for Cherokee County. To schedule an appointment, go to redcrossblood.org and enter the appropriate sponsor code for the blood drive you'd like to participate in.

Donations at drives such as these are especially crucial during the summer months, says Red Cross Donor Recruitment Representative Sandy Buffington.

Buffington told Patch that due to schools being out on summer break, the Red Cross' potential donor pool shrinks some, so it needs other donators to help pick up the slack.
