Cherokee Plans Ribbon Cutting For Blankets Creek Renovations

There is a brand new look to the mountain bike trails, including new restrooms and a paved entrance.

The renovated Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trails will be the star attraction at a ribbon cutting that will be held early next week.

Representatives from the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners, Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency, the Woodstock chapter of Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will be at the park for the ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 25.

The park is located at 2125 Sixes Road in Canton.

Some of the improvements at the park include an increased-capacity parking lot, a re-aligned and paved entrance, four brand new restrooms/changing rooms, two new pavilions, a bike wash station, and landscape and hardscape improvements.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services will also show off their new fire rescue boat and ATV/trailer, which are in high demand in remote locations, including the mountain bike trails.
