No Fatalities on Lake Allatoona Over Memorial Day Weekend

While the lake, part of which sits in Cherokee County, saw no drownings, one death was tallied near Augusta and in south Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division has issued its final statistics for the 2013 Memorial Day weekend, and Lake Allatoona saw no fatalities during the three-day weekend.

However, the division did report two drownings, one of which occurred in the Augusta Canal and on a private pond in Coffee County.

Additionally, Lake Allatoona saw a total of three boating incidents, and two incidents that resulted in injuries.
