Most folks do not expect and even take offense to being questioned by a when entering their own neighborhood. Due to that was the situation that many residents found themselves in as they went about their business Monday night and all day Tuesday.

Officers posted at the entrance to several of the cities subdivisions questioned drivers as they attempted to enter the storm damaged areas. Most lived there, many wanted to see the damage and a few were trying to solicit work from the victims. In an effort to reduce the potential for fraud, theft and onlooker traffic, only those who lived in the area and those already contracted to perform work were allowed to enter.

When events such as this occur it usually brings out the best in neighbors . Unfortunately, disasters also invite those less than honest individuals who are unlicensed, uninsured and do not have the homeowners best interest in mind, and many were turned away.
