Party like its Shark Week!

Sunday was the official start of this week of television shows on all things shark. Millions of people will tune in for a lineup that has promised a lot of bite (sorry couldn't resist!). In honor of this event we have created a special Pinterest board to share some creative Shark Week entertaining ideas; because being scared, horrified, educated and fascinated is always more fun with a crowd.

The kids around here are back in school; what better way to celebrate their first week than a Friday night Shark Week Pool Party or a Shark Week Slumber Party. But be warned after watching a show like “Great White Gauntlet” they may be up pretty late. If your children haven’t gone back yet or you home school, plan an afternoon with Discovery Channel. I’m thinking a show titled “How Not To Become Shark Bait” would be educational and entertaining to my elementary crowd. Heck, my kids would love to watch any show with sharks especially if they get to munch on goldfish and Swedish fish.

So what about bigger kids? Why not get together with friends; relax and unwind and watch quality programs like Voodoo Shark or Sharkpocalypse. You can make it even more interesting with a game of Shark Week Bingo. Don’t forget some tasty Shark Week inspired snacks and drinks. If you do decide to pick up a six pack of Landshark Lager or mix up a pitcher of Bloody Marys, just remember to drink responsibly, as with all alcoholic beverages these could just sneak up and bite you!

There are even more party ideas and free printables on the Discovery website that can help you party like a Shark Star. Just remember that Shark Week ends this Saturday at 12:00 am after a special airing of Sharknado so get your shark on while you can.
