Vote for Cherokee Animal Shelter

Voting for the Cherokee County Animal Shelter to qualify for the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge begins April 6.

The  is asking for the community's help in an online competition to win $100,000.

The Animal Shelter is competing in the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Rachael Ray $100K Challenge against shelters across the country. Voting for the Qualifying Heat starts April 6 and runs through April 16. Each voter can cast one new ballot every day.

Fifty shelters will move forward. There will be five shelters with the most Qualifying Heat votes in each georgraphical division plus the remaining top 25 shelters with the most votes regardless of their division to advance, according to the competition website. The Cherokee Animal Shelter is in the Southeast Division.

The goal of ASPCA and the Challenge is to help shelters work together to develop and test new ways to help the thousands of shelters and rescues across the country save more lives.

Voters can vote here starting next week.
