Woodstock Farmers Market Opens Saturday

The Woodstock Farmers Market kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in downtown Woodstock.

This weekend will be the first in which Woodstock residents won't have to travel too far to find fresh, local food to indulge in. 

The Woodstock Farmers Market presented by Hamilton State Bank will return for its 6th season on Saturday, May 3 with a new location and a second day. 

The Saturday market will be held in downtown Woodstock from 8:30 an. to noon on Market Street between Mill and Maple streets adjacent to the Elm Street Arts Village event green. The Saturday market will run through Oct. 23.

The 2014 season will also bring the addition of a Tuesday night market at the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, which will start on May 6 and run through Oct. 28. The Tuesday market will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday's market will be stocked with beef steak tomatoes, romaine, kale, yellow squash, snap beans, Vidalia onions, shelled english peas, heirloom tomato plants, pepper plants, "bee safe" flowers, herbs, farm fresh eggs, hydroponic lettuce, arugula, cucumbers, d'anjou pears, minneolas, grapefruit, chow chow, honey, baker creek heirloom seeds, infused peanut oil, pecan oil, fresh ground grits and cornmeal, pure raw local wildflower honey, spice blends, jams & jellies, lye soaps, preserves, beeswax candles,  infused oils, fresh roasted coffee, iced coffee, lavender and lavender related products, cupcakes, dog treats, cookies, pies, baked bread, cakes, sea salts, baguettes, macaroons, fruit tarts, scones, peanut brittle, pecan brittle, cashew brittle, angel biscuits, fried pies, muffins, bath & beauty products, fudge, and much more.

Tuesday's market at the outlet mall will feature heirloom tomato plants, pepper plants, "bee safe" flowers, herbs, farm fresh eggs, hydroponic lettuce, kale, arugula, tomatoes, cucumbers, d'anjou pears, minneolas, grapefruit, chow chow, baker creek heirloom seeds, infused peanut oils, fresh ground grits and cornmeal, pure raw local wildflower honey, jams & jellies, spice blends, lye soaps, preserves,  bath & beauty products, infused oils, cookies, cakes, sea salts, baguettes, macaroons, tarts, scones,  peanut brittle, pecan brittle, cashew brittle, brownies, fudge, cupcakes, baked bread, and much more.
