There's a prowler on my front porch. Do I have to call the Chairman of the Cherokee RepublicanRead More Party before I call 911 or can I wait until after?

Is it right to post partial trial testimony while a trial is ongoing? I know jurors are told toRead More avoid media, but Canton is a small town. I'm not sure this is a best practice. Not saying it is illegal, just not the best.

Bye, nellybelly. I hope that NY has better success overcoming the challenges that your child facesRead More by being raised by someone with such a propensity for the run-on sentence. Chad, I find the parallels that you draw between Benghazi, Richt, Forrest Gump, Jihad, and Dr. P to be fascinating. Tell me more. You sound very sane.
Aww Now April 24, 2014 at 01:03 am
Can we go back to the original comment that was false, misleading at best. The part where Why wouldRead More we question a board ... 71% graduation rate." But then we called on it, no admission, or mistake ownership, just rhetoric. Ms Marlow may have had some good ideas, initially. I suppose that's why people originally supported her. But she quickly lost her way. It's not the system's fault how she conducted herself. It is her's alone. I'm not going to attack her personally. She has family & close friends that might read these sorts of posts. Varying opinions, with respect, can often lead to great progress. Unfortunately, that was not the path she enacted. Professionally and personally, her's is a sad tale.
Chad casey April 24, 2014 at 05:23 am
I agree with you....but again whether it's 71% or 78%, that's still "not good,Read More Daniel-sun".....Just FYI. I misspoke about the 71%. I was actually talking about Cherokee high school, not the board...so there, are we happy? See....I do take accountability for my mistake. Now....can i have a trophy just because participated?

I hate ignorant posts written in all caps, especially when they don't read the entire story. CheckRead More out the last 2 paragraphs.

Hey, Cherokee County police, good job, too bad this is happening more and more in your county. MethRead More scum, coke scum, and hording of animals with intent to mistreat and even abuse. No SCPCA given, no one cares about cats, only dogs. Someone spits on a dog and every craps themselves, but let dope heads abuse the hell out of cats and no one lifts a finger. Shame, shame, shame on you all.

His disgusting act deserves the death penalty or life with a chance for parole . If we are luckyRead More another inmate might take care of the prolem .
jimmy a faircloth April 23, 2014 at 11:02 am
life in prison is to good for this low life he should be tied to four horse and pulled apart thisRead More would be more fitting to life with parol in 30 years..

I'm so sick of bleeding hearts thinking that prison is good enough for these psychos! I just do notRead More understand the mentality that if we, as a society, condone the death penalty that we are somehow barbaric, sick or vengeful. What is wrong with you??? Do you really think it makes us a better society for continuing to support people like this killer for the rest of their lives? Do you understand how much money that costs our country EVERY DAY? I understand that perhaps you feel that there are some innocent people sitting in prison right now and, for those few, we need to be cautious in exacting final justice. However, this psycho admitted that he did it...described it in detail...he is guilty...there is no doubt about that. Furthermore, there is NO...let me repeat that...NO help for him. There is no amount of rehabilitation, no drug, no shock therapy, no surgery, no magic drink...NOTHING...that will help him or change him. I have worked in a correctional setting for many years...with some of the worst criminals in history...(who, by the way, have since been executed)...I have seen them on a daily basis, talked to them, listened to them, watched their daily actions. Trust me when I tell you, there is NOTHING that will change them and I have not lost one second of sleep over their executions...in fact, the opposite is true...I sleep better knowing they are GONE...gone permanently...not just 'put away' for a while. I understand that you think you are being compassionate...you are not. It is a service to society, in soooo many ways, to be rid of them. THEY are the true animals...let me take that back...they aren't even animals...I have two dogs...they have never hurt anyone...I value their lives more than any one of these sick individuals. I can't call them people, I can't call them animals...both are above what they are. There really is no name for it...but I will assure you...they have NO place in society...even in an incarcerated society. Judge me if you will...call me harsh if you must...my opinion comes from seeing and knowing...and you can take my statements how ever you wish...but I know what I know...and you can take that to the bank.

Maybe running a red light?
strange days April 21, 2014 at 02:57 pm
you know what i hate. "charged with DUI" So you just stopped a random car to makeRead More sure they werent drinking and driving? They weren't weaving, werent speeding, had valid registration, and license, didnt run a red light. Just DUI. Also, for all we know they blew under the legal limit. Little known fact. Cherokee county gives out alot of "DUI/DUI less safe" If you are charged with DUI they will throw DUI less safe on the indictment for just in case. DUI less safe means that you blew under .08 but the officer felt you shouldnt be driving. So if you have a cop trying to meet quota "which canton city, and cherokee county BOTH HAVE" of course DUI,DUI less safe will be throw out at everyone.
John Welford April 22, 2014 at 03:42 pm
strange days......... Just be sure your tag light is in working order, because if your tag light isRead More out that is probable cause for an officer to "go fishing" and see what he/she can catch. Clearly a non functional tag light is evidence of unsafe driving........LOL

Note the failure to yield charge...?
Nikki Lance April 18, 2014 at 09:15 am
Heather Hanes Bergner, the man turned left WITHOUT a green arrow in front of the motorcycle. MeaningRead More the motorcycle had the right of way.. RIP LUKE your family is in our prayers..
Drew Meister April 18, 2014 at 10:35 pm
There is a curve just before the turn onto Bells Ferry Place. Any chance the motorcycle wasRead More traveling faster than a motorist could see? What "green arrow"? This would insinuate that the auto driver ran a light. Was this a pocket rocket? Was the cyclist wearing head gear? Too many questions and not enough information published.

I really hope there is more to this story, if not it's just another example of inexperienced cops inRead More Cherokee county abusing their power
Kristal Dixon (Editor) April 19, 2014 at 08:34 am
Hey, all. I'm only reporting what both Woodstock Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation isRead More telling me. They have not given any details surrounding what led to the shooting, etc. And Drew, what are you referring to?
Edward Doty April 19, 2014 at 03:13 pm
My name is Edward Doty,Dennis Doty was my brother! There is still a lot of questions surroundingRead More this shooting. But as far as the warrants, they was pulled after a prior indecent that happened at the MacDonald's off hwy 92 in woodstock, where the police had to fight and tased shawn a number of times .thats when he was given the chance to go to the hospital or to jail!then he was released . why they didnt keep him in custody isnt clear.

Mary Ellen Thomas April 12, 2014 at 03:14 pm

But we can get stoned now, makes perfect sense !! You could always just drive like responsibleRead More people and keep your speed safe, there are thousands of people missing limbs or worse wishing they never were involved in a crash by either there own fault or the result of some balloon knot, Thanks for keeping us safe officers

Man,what a terrible thing to happen.Sorry man Luke,to early, but good journeys to youRead More Brother..............however-If a motorcycle hits a vehicle at any speed,it is terrible for the motorcyclist. If it hits a vehicle hard enough to injure and make the occupant of that vehicle bleed from the face it had to have been a speeding bullet. This side of the story the rock throwers wont tell you.Christine Veit obviously hates Flavin for other reasons and those who clamour for death row are idiots who should rather keep quiet.Just those ridiculous sentiments makes your arguments null and void.....If Flavin was hurt and bleeding,he would not have been able to help.Do you people seriously think a man of 65,bleeding and hurt ,would have been able to render help?? I'm 41 and struggle to sit on my knees on a good day.Yes,maybe he turned into oncoming traffic, but wanting the death sentence or a long prison sentence, please.shame on you-KEEP YOUR JUDGEMENTS TO YOURSELF.
Robin Olson April 22, 2014 at 06:52 pm
You hit on some key points, However.. the driver of the SUV turned left on a green light, whileRead More driver of motorcycle was going straight in his lane on a green light. Which means the motorcycle had the right of way. So even if motorcycle was speeding.. it all lays on the driver of the SUV's hands for failure to yield.
Philip Botha April 22, 2014 at 08:51 pm
You are right Rob,the accident was/might have been whichever side you see it from guilty.TheRead More severity was from a speeding motorcycle. We'll have to see what the investigation finds.
