William Wilson Heaton Jr. faces six charges in connection with the Feb. 16 hit-and-run that critically injured a Woodstock High School graduate.
The committee's vote comes weeks after an Atlanta education policy group suggested some scholarship money was used at a Woodstock religious school that ban gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual students.
On Jan. 12, 2010, a man allegedly opened fire inside the Kennesaw truck rental facility, killing three people, including one man from Woodstock.
