Police, Firefighters of the Year Honored
American Legion Post 316 also celebrated its 93rd birthday last week.
American Legion Post 316 celebrated the American Legion's 93rd birthday and Special Awards Program honoring members from the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire Department. The Police and Firefighters of the Year were recognized at Magnolia Hall on March 15. The following police officers and firefighters were honored: Woodstock Police Supervisor of the Year—Lt. Matt O’Keefe Woodstock Police Officer of the Year—Acting Sgt. Walter Franco Woodstock Police Rookie of the Year—Officer Keith McGaw Woodstock Police Civilian of the Year—Leah O’Donnell Woodstock Fire Department Officer of the Year—Kristi Peterson Woodstock Fire Department Firefighter of the Year—Brian Scudder Woodstock Fire Department Rookie of the Year—Joey Byrd
