You have just three days to make plans to take advantage of the city of Woodstock's free seedling giveaway! Woodstock's annual free seedling and tree care guide giveaway will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at four places throughout the city: The guide is also on the city's website. The city will give away 800 seedlings for Dogwood, Crape Myrtle and Live Oak trees. The guide on tree care will include caring for and planting trees, pruning existing trees and current water restrictions. To commemorate Georgia Arbor Day, Woodstock city officials will plant and dedicate a tree in the spring to honor city employees celebrating their 20-year anniversary with the city. Pick a free seedling from various locations around Woodstock this Friday.
Woodstock is celebrating Arbor Day by giving away 750 seedlings to residents and planting trees in dedication of city employees. City Clerk Rhonda Pezzello, Fire Marshall and Assistant Fire Chief Jimmy Eley and Lt. Tim Smith of the Woodstock Fire Department will be recognized for their 20 years of service to the city by having three trees planted in the spring in their honor. Dogwood, Crape Myrtle, Red Maple and Southern Magnolia seedlings will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the City Hall Annex, Magnolia Hall, William G.
