Cupcakes Benefit Teen Miss Contestant

The teen will represent Woodstock in the Miss Georgia Teen USA pageant, but needs your help to get there.

Lauren Debranski has been selected as an official state finalist in the Miss Georgia Teen USA Pageant and will be representing the City of Woodstock. In addition to welcoming sponsors, Lauren is baking cupcakes to help raise funds for her expenses for The Miss Georgia Teen USA pageant this fall. Anyone planning a party or event or just want to eat cupcakes for a cause is welcome to order her famous rainbow or new red/white/blue cupcakes. They are $8 for six or $12 for 12. A sponsorship program is incorporated into the Miss Georgia USA state pageant. These pageants are a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal joint venture. Your sponsorship is tax deductible as an advertising expense if you are a business. This is a chance of a lifetime for her …

Lifted by Color

Mary Zeman brightens her life with the creations she makes on her canvases.

With no formal training under her belt, local artist Mary Zeman finds all of her artistic skills within herself. She first began painting in 1997 after she underwent brain surgery at Piedmont for a benign tumor. Unable to work her job at Turner Broadcasting for two months, Zeman arranged a ride to the arts and crafts store Michaels for her first set of paints. Zeman first painted on an old dresser drawer set and claims she did not paint on canvas for about a year. She still continues to paint on whatever she can find, and her choices result in unique and varied art. When she finally returned to her job later that year, she hung a variety of pieces in her cubicle. Passing coworkers suggested she research Howard Finster. Zeman felt prompted …
