Question of the Week: What Do You Expect from the Democratic National Convention this Week?

The Democratic National Convention takes place Sept. 4-6. Will it affect your vote?

The reviews from the Republican National Convention in Tampa last week were expectedly mixed. Some praised its "focus on the philosophy of government and the role of success in our society," others questioned its coverage by certain media outlets, while still others criticized the speeches of certain politicos and their spouses. Tuesday through Thursday of this week, Sept. 4-6, all eyes turn to Charlotte, N.C. where the Democratic National Convention is expected to make a case for why President Barack Obama should be elected to a second term in the White House. This brings us to our questions of the week:

Sequoyah Grad One of Youngest Members of Georgia Delegation at DNC

Josh Altman turned 22 on Friday.

When Democrats renominate President Barack Obama this week in Charlotte, 2008 Sequoyah High graduate Josh Altman will be on the convention floor as one of the youngest members of this year's Georgia delegation. "It's my future that's at stake with this election and with the policies that are going to come out of it," said Altman, who turned 22 on Friday. One of five delegates elected to represent the 6th Congressional District, which includes Cherokee, Cobb and North Fulton, Altman thought he'd become a Republican. Growing up in Cherokee, a county that has supported the Republican candidate for president in every election since at least 1992, "it's just the way things were," he said.
