Woodstock Fundraiser Pairs Beer, Dinner For Mountain Bike Trails

Freight Kitchen & Tap will host the second-annual Greenprints Beer Dinner to raise money for the Woodstock chapter of the Southern Off-Road Biking Association, or SORBA.

Freight Kitchen & Tap will team up with Woodstock's Greenprints Alliance to raise money for a local mountain biking advocacy organization. The second-annual Greenprints Beer Dinner will be held at 7 p.m. March 13 at Freight, located at 251 East Main Street in downtown Woodstock.  The five-course dinner will have craft beer pairings and will feature guest chef Kyle Shankman of Sur La Table and Chef Robert Morneweck of Freight and Table 33. The event will benefit the Woodstock chapter of the Southern Off-Road Biking Association, or SORBA. Brewery Could Open In Woodstock During The Summer

Representatives with Reformation Brewery outlined their business plans to the Woodstock Downtown Development Authority on Thursday.

A Cherokee County-based brewery could open up near downtown Woodstock by the summer. Representatives with Reformation Brewery spoke with members of the Woodstock Downtown Development Authority on Thursday about their plans to open in the city. The company was at the meeting to request the DDA change the downtown area's boundary lines to include property they plan to utilize for their business, which was approved unanimously by the board.  The change was needed so the company can be eligible to receive a Downtown Development Revolving Loan from the state Department of Community Affairs. Junior Service League Seeks New Members

The nonprofit organization will host an event in January to welcome prospective members.

  The Junior Service League of Woodstock is inviting women to new member social.  The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013, at Freight Kitchen & Tap in downtown Woodstock.  The league welcomes women of all ages and all types. You don’t have to be young or a stay at home mom to participate in our organization. This year our board is comprised of full time, working mothers. It is a very diverse group with one common goal, improving the community through volunteerism and fund-raising.   The league recently held their Annual Holiday Tour of Homes, which raised $15,000 and had over 600 attendees.
