A budget crunch at the state level has caused the Cherokee County Probate Court to increase the fee to obtain a Georgia weapons carry license. Beginning March 1, the fee will increase from $72.25 to $79.25 when you apply for a license at the Cherokee County Probate Court. The increase is due to the Georgia Crime Information Center, a division of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, increasing the fee to perform state and federal background checks, which will rise from $37.25 to $44.25. GBI Spokesman John Bankhead said the increase is a "budget issue." The GBI revised increased the fees for fingerprint-based state background checks submitted for "employment, contractor or licensing purposes," according to a GCIC operations bulletin. "…
Jerome George “Jerry” Cundy of Woodstock led Cherokee and Cobb authorities on a chase after he allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified the man killed Sunday in an officer-involved shooting on I-75 as 53-year-old Jerome George “Jerry” Cundy of Woodstock. Cundy allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning, then led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway. Police stopped the vehicle there, and Cundy aimed his gun at officers, who shot and killed him, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said Sunday. GBI spokesman John Bankhead offered no other details in the case, which remains under investigation. Southbound I-75 traffic was halted at the North Marietta Parkway around 11 a.m. Sunday. …

They knew that from seeing the video camera at Walgreens where the side of the gun was missing. There was also 2 hours between the two stores. All southbound lanes were closed for hours near the North Marietta Parkway exit Sunday after a law enforcement pursuit that began in Woodstock.
A suspect who allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning was shot and killed by police on Interstate 75 near the North Marietta Parkway, leaving southbound traffic jammed for most of Sunday afternoon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the unnamed suspect led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway.
