The former state Senator will earn $150,000 as executive producer, community jobs program with Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Chip Rogers will make more than Gov. Nathan Deal and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle each make in their public jobs when the former state Senator starts his new job Tuesday earning $150,000. The AJC reports that he'll be the seventh executive at Georgia Public Broadcasting earning six-figures annually, despite a rather pedestrian title: Executive producer, community jobs program. The position is paid solely through state taxpayers’ money. Rogers quit the state Senate less than a month after his re-election to his seat to take the position with GPB, which he said "is like a dream come true." He had yet to complete his previous term or take the oath for the new term before he resigned. Rogers came under fire for a meeting he organized in which Georgia …

The Holly Springs state representative will run for the seat vacated by former Senator Chip Rogers.
A Holly Springs Republican state legislator has tossed his hat into the ring to run for the Georgia Senate. Sean Jerguson confirmed to Patch early Wednesday afternoon that he will run for the Georgia Senate District 21 seat, which encompasses the eastern half of Cherokee County, Alpharetta and Milton. The seat is now vacant as former Sen. Chip Rogers of Woodstock abruptly resigned from the position on Tuesday. Jerguson said he's looked at the possibility very carefully and has prayed about it. “I think it was extremely important that someone from Cherokee County wins this seat and provide the conservative leadership that we need,” he said. Jerguson said he does not have to resign to announce he's running, but noted he has to resign from …

Senator Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) has decided not to seek re-election to the post of majority leader in the Georgia Senate. Rogers, who has served as majority leader for four years, said in a emailed statement he decided not to seek re-election, noting the "toll of serving my caucus was taking too much from my family." "While I had no challengers for the position of Majority Leader, the decision was still clear to me," he said. "Leadership positions should never become permanent and I am very supportive of our new Majority Leader and my good friend, Senator (Ronnie) Chance.” Chance's election to the post of majority leader isn't the only news out of the Georgia Senate Republicans' election of new leaders. David Shafer of Duluthdefeated …

Chip still works for our tax dollar - he works for us - as long as he does so, he's open to criticism when he doesn't do the job. This has nothing to do with party affiliation, but there is no ideology in this State except primarily one, the same one protecting him from personal responsibility. Roger's multitude of reasons are as absent as a Belichick press conference and his apology to the …   more ›
