Goodwill Week Celebrates New Jobs

As the economy continues its slow recovery, many people continue to struggle to find and keep good jobs. However, Goodwill of North Georgia has reason to celebrate since last year, the nonprofit helped more than 10,200 people find employment through the variety of job training programs and employment services.   "When you give to Goodwill or shop in our stores, you are helping people who lack education or work experience, those who have disabilities, youth, veterans and others who may be having a hard time finding employment," said Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations. Woodstock Goodwill Hosts Job Fair in its Career Center

The organization will hold eight job fairs on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Woodstock will be the site of one of eight job fairs hosted by Goodwill of North Georgia on Wednesday, Feb. 6, giving job seekers across the region the chance to connect with dozens of employers. Goodwill will hold the job fair at eight of its career centers. Employers will be on-site at each location recruiting workers for professional, warehouse and retail positions. Job Fair Attendee Requirements “Each of our career centers holds regular job fairs, but this is the first time we’ve combined our efforts to create a single-day impact,” says Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations. Seven Items You Can Donate to Help Save Space - and Money

Goodwill® offers tips for de-cluttering before the year’s end.

  Taxpayers looking to claim a deduction for charitable donations only have 10 days left to give before the end of the 2012 tax year. Goodwill of North Georgia is preparing for what will be its busiest donation rush of the year. "We always receive our heaviest volume of donations from Dec. 26 to Dec, 31. Last year we received more than 87,000 donations during the last week of the year,"says Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong. The organization has more than 100 locations where you can drop off items, including Woodstock.
