More Trails Coming To Woodstock
The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners last night awarded a bid to build new multi-use trails in the city of Woodstock.
The city of Woodstock could soon expand its trail network. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously voted to award a bid to Georgia Development Partners, LLC of Atlanta to build two sets of multi-use trails throughout the city. County Chairman Buzz Ahrens was not present. The county received nine proposals to build the trails, but Georgia Development Partners was the "lowest responsible bidder" with its proposal, according to county officials. The cost of the project is $999,939.29 and the funding would be taken out of Woodstock's $5 million portion of the $90 million parks bond county voters approved in 2008.
