Habitat Builds Woodstock Home

FishNet Security donates funds, volunteer hours to help a family of four build their Habitat for Humanity home.

A Woodstock family is getting a new home thanks to Alpharetta's FishNet Security partnering with Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia. FishNet Security donated $3,000 toward the build and sent 15 employees last Friday, April 20 to help with the construction of the home in Park Creek subdivision in Woodstock. The home is due to be completed on May 19. The FishNet Security employees performed the last of the interior work and enjoyed a full day of painting. This is the third year that FishNet Security, formerly Logic Trends, has partnered with Habitat to help build a home for a deserving family. UPS Foundation Check Funds Habitat Home

The long-time Habitat for Humanity supporter presented an $80,000 check to build a Woodstock home.

Frank Romeo, vice president of the UPS Foundation, presented Russ Hayes, CEO of Habitat for Humanity–North Central Georgia, with an $80,000 check to help build a Habitat home. The UPS/Habitat home will be located in the Villages of Park Creek neighborhood in Woodstock. Construction will start in June and UPS employees will provide all of the volunteer labor to build the home. UPS has been a longtime supporter of Habitat North Central Georgia and has been responsible to providing affordable housing to many local families. Habitat for Humanity–North Central Georgia is a non-profit, Christian housing ministry that builds simple, decent homes for purchase by low income families who demonstrate a capacity for responsible homeownership. Habitat Starts Construction on Woodstock Home

More than 50 volunteers, family friends and Habitat for Humanity staff started construction on a home for the Brannon family.

North Central Georgia held a First Nail Ceremony for the Brannon family whose new home is being constructed on Ridgewood Drive in Woodstock. More than 50 volunteers, family friends, Habitat staff and board members attended the ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on this very special home.  The home is being built to meet wheelchair accessibility standards because the oldest son in the family suffers from Spina Bifida. The home construction requires that doorways and hallways be built wider and that all appliances be placed at accessible levels. Bank of North Georgia Members Volunteer for Thousands of Hours

Two Synovus divisions combined have contributed the equivalent of $159,000 by their participation.

Employees of Bank of North Georgia, headquartered in Alpharetta, and Bank of Coweta volunteered more than 7,457 hours to 261 organizations in the local communities in whichy they do business. The time they've spent is a contribution valued at $159,282, using the industry standard of $21.36 per hour. According to Don Howard, Synovus Regional CEO in the Atlanta market, "The 500 or more team members at Bank of North Georgia and Bank of Coweta have a genuine interest in reaching out to those in need within our communities and actively serve on non-profit and civic organization boards and committees as well as participate in other fundraising initiatives."
