Friday Morning Fire Damages Woodstock Home
The five people inside the home escaped the blaze that allegedly started when a car caught on fire.
Five people were able to escape injury after a portion of a home caught fire early Friday morning. Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Woodstock Fire Department both responded to the fire, which broke out shortly before 1 a.m. at 1024 Ashfern Walk, located off Bells Ferry Road near Hobgood Park. According to a press release from Cherokee Fire, a caller told Cherokee County E-911 that a vehicle located just inches from the house broke out in a fire. Minutes later, dispatchers were told the home's garage was on fire. By the time fire fighters arrived on the scene, about two-thirds of the home was on fire and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the house.
