Register now for the Out Spokin' Bike parade in July.
Register online for the Third Annual Woodstock Bike Parade on July 6 at the Old Walmart on Highway 92 and Main Street. Day-of registration will be from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. The parade will begin at 6:30 and will go 2.25 miles up Main Street, Fowler Street, E. Main Street and back. Teens can learn all about the five U.S. service academies and how to apply to attend them during the annual Military Academy Day at Dobbins Air Reserve Base on May 12. The free event is aimed at eighth- to 12th-graders who are interested in attending the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy or U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. “I am pleased to once again host this unique opportunity for Georgia students to learn about our nation’s military academies,” said Sen. Parents have Thursday and Friday to register their children entering kindergarten and first grade for the first time.
Kindergarten registration is sneaking up this week. Parents will need to register their children entering kindergarten or first grade for the first time Thursday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or on Friday between 9 a.m. and noon. Parents, remember children who are 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 are eligible for kindergarten registration. Children who are 6 years old on or before Sept. 1 are elibile for first grade registration. Students who will be enrolling in school for the first time and will attend the new Clark Creek Elementary School should register at Oak Grove Elementary, according to the Cherokee County School District website.
